The Oil Shortage

A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country. Well, there's a very simple answer. Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn't know we were getting low. The reason for that is purely geographical. Our OIL is located in Alaska, California, Coastal Florida, Coastal Louisiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas. Our DIPSTICKS are located in Washington, DC! Any Questions?

Stress Management

From Mike Moore’s Newsletter
A speaker, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "how heavy is this glass of water?”
Answers called out ranged from 8oz. to 20oz.
The lecturer replied,
"The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it.  To read the rest of the story, go here: http://www.worldwidebc.com/blog_details.php?record_id=28
Rules of the Road

You can achieve similar results by following these nine commandments of hypermiling. "It's not brain science," Gerdes says.

  • Brake sparingly. Coast up to red lights instead of braking (though you might want to watch your rearview mirror). Timed correctly, you'll hit the green while still moving forward and expend less fuel accelerating again. A commuter should be able to pick up the timing sequence of lights along a route in three to four days, Gerdes asserts.

Embrace Silence
Dr. Wayne Dyer

You live in a noisy world, constantly bombarded with loud music, sirens, construction equipment, jet airplanes, rumbling trucks, leaf blowers, lawn mowers and tree cutters. These manmade, unnatural sounds invade your sense and keep silence at bay.

Constructing Your Speech

There are only three parts to a speech; the open, the, middle and the close. It’s as simple as that. And the parts you need to work on the most are the open and the close. The open should say four things; who you are, why you are there, what your topics is and what it has to do with the audience.

The Evil Genius of the Mosquito

Ever wonder why mosquito bites don't hurt when you get them or why they itch later?
According to author Dr. Billy Goldberg the answer may help you remember to grab that bug spray on your way out the door. "Mosquitoes are fiendishly advanced technological creatures, when they bite you, they inject a number of things. First of all, when the female bites, she's not 'biting' so much as 'drinking' your blood. She does two things-she injects an anti-coagulant so she drinks up your blood without those clots. And she injects a little anesthetic so you don't feel it. Obviously it you felt the bite while it was happening you'd smack the mosquito, so the system is ingenious."

One Liners You Can Use Everyday

* Yo’ mama is so fat when she goes to the movies, she sits next to everyone.

* My family was so poor when my little brother broke his arm we had to take him out to the airport for x-rays.

* Here comes another one of those three-day weekends. The motorists answer to the population explosion.

* Remember, the mighty oak is simply a little nut that held its ground.

* When a woman really loves a man he can make her do anything she wants to do.
