What Is Christian Comedy

I was a club comedian for twenty years before becoming a Christian comedian. I didn’t even know it existed. Comedy is the anti-Christ of entertainment.  How can you be a Christian and a comedian at the same time?

Children And Power

Anyone who has ever witnessed a two year olds tantrum knows that children inherently acknowledge the power that is in them. Talk to them and you see how easily they are enchanted with magic swords and carpet and the ability to fly and shape shift. After two weeks with my grandchildren, my head is spinning with extraordinary stories and visions.

How To Fit the Right Humor To The Right Audience
By Peter Fogel

A joke has two parts: a set-up (premise) and a punch-line (pay-off).

In comedy club humor you can push the envelope with subject material, your language, etc.

People are drunk, looser, and give you the benefit of the doubt.

Big On Burgers

We Americans are some burger eatin’ maniacs shoving more than 38-billion down our throats every year. If placed in a line they would stretch a whopping 1.8-million miles. French fires account for nearly a quarter of all meal transactions, trailing only beverages at 30%. Potatoes make up one third of total vegetable consumption. Pizza consumption tripled  between 1977 and 1989. Last year half of all Americans ate pizza at least once every two weeks; which explains why we Americans are getting fatter than ever. Eat healthy, feel better, live longer.

Breathing

You should make your observations yourself,
you should not be the man of someone else,
Not in the dependence on another should you live,
nor go about making a trade out of holiness.
If your mind becomes firm like a rock
and no longer shakes
In a world where everything is shaking,
Your mind will be your greatest friend
And suffering will not come your way.
Find a place where you are alone. Train yourself in the following way: When you breathe in, experience breathing in. When you breathe out, be fully conscious that you are breathing out. If you cherish and practice this, it will bear great fruit. Whatever you are doing and wherever you are, you will find steadiness, calm, and concentration if you become conscious of your breathing.
Overcoming attachment does not mean becoming cold and indifferent. On the contrary, it means learning to have relaxed control over our mind through understanding the real causes of happiness and fulfillment, and this enables us to enjoy life more and suffer less.
Meditation is running into reality. It does not insulate you from the pain of life. It allows you to delve so deeply into life and all its aspects that you pierce the pain barrier and go beyond suffering.

  • You can now buy ostrich meat – ostrich meat. If you eat ostrich meat you obviously don’t know your head from a hole in the ground.
  • Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail, leaving rabbit dung along the way…
  • As a child I liked my hopscotch on the rocks.
  • It’s called a 1040 because you keep 10 and they take 40.
